2007 has been another busy and developing year. The aquisition of a new random access analyser for our Chemical Pathology department enables us to give faster and more accurate patient results.
In another development we owe thanks to 'The Inter Religious Council of Uganda' for donating free HIV testing kits which has enabled us to extend voluntry HIV testing and counselling to our in patients and out patients. And, in a related exercise we now carry out HIV testing for the Church of Uganda in various churches and community centres. As many as 300 patients at a time can be tested in one session .

THE TRAINING SCHOOL
Our school continues to expand with 98 students now studying for certificate and diploma courses. Consequently, we are busy renovating two student hostels and we are very grateful to 'Friends of Mengo (UK)' for donating funds to make this possible. With the increase in student numbers more class room space is required so we are indebted for the very welcome development of a new teaching block. Now under construction, two large class rooms, a library and computer room will be complete in four months time. This is being funded by Irish Aid through the Ministry of Health Primary Heath Care Program.
And, in another welcome donation from Irish Aid we are grateful for a 30 seater school bus which will be used for student outreach programmes.
In February we send a team of students to Arua for the Ministry of Education national sports competition to compete in Volley ball, foot ball and other events. We wish them luck and success and hope they bring back many trophies to adorn our new library!
