Mengo Hospital is a Christian
Mission Hospital and the oldest in East Africa having been founded in 1897 By Sir Albert Cook of the Church Missionary Society.
Laboratory services were originally set up by Sir Albert Cook and have continued
to develop up to the present day. The Medical Laboratory training school was
established in 1992.
The laboratory takes care that an efficient quality
service is provided. Consequently, daily control samples are analysed and we
participate in a UK based international Quality Assurance scheme along with some
800 other laboratories world wide
We are also a training school licensed by the Uganda
Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education & Sports. We have an excellent
reputation for producing well trained staff for the country's Health Centres and
Hospitals. Currently we have 98 students from all over Uganda.
